Cherry Flitches

This slab set of cherry crotches have widths that max out at +50" on the crotch end. The crotch grain has been covered with a white wax to prevent surface checking during drying. Under the wax you will find some really nice swirly grain. There is an ingrown bark seam in the center of the crotch that will need to be filled. The center slabs have pith splits that will need filled and/or butterflied as well, however piece #5 was cut 3" thick to help box the pith (it is tallied as 2.5").
