This set is pretty much defect free except for the pin knots that adds a little character and figure to the wood. Piece 10 also has a split that was reduced to maintain the width. There is a mixture of straight grain and flat sawn in this that could make it ideal for projects needing both. Sapwood is pretty even throughout set with the exceptions of 1 & 7, which are heavy on the sap. Fortunately the back faces to both pieces make up for that with having lots of heartwood
