Chestnut Oak Flitches

There is some fancy figure in this set of Chestnut Oak. The figure has an appearance that is between fiddleback and quilt, it looks great! There are some splits around the center of the log which merrits width reductions. This would be a great set for a cabinets. The rift and quarter would make grain stiles and rails, while the flatsawn could be used for beautiful panels. The last five narrower pieces of the set are from a second log in this tree, but have been included in this grouping.
Chestnut Oak falls under the White Oak umbrella, but has a bit of a darker color. The chestnut color and ripply figure makes for a great combination.
