Red Gum Flitches
SPECIES
American Gum, this light colored/multicolored wood is 7’ long with widths ranging up to 20”. The coloring is not as playful as ambrosia maple which we have been highlighting recently; it has color variations but is more golden than maple. It is not the typical color that we find in our Gum cuttings either. We think that this log must have had some time to (dis?)color before milling. The log does have some cool pin-knots which adds a bit of character to the wood. There are some surface checks in this wood which would have to be filled and it would add to the character. This is priced to move!
