Soft Maple Flitches
SPECIES
Got a clearer set of figured soft maple. The figured runs throughout the set, and fades in the back half towards the narrow end of those few pieces. The two outer flitches from both sides of the log have nice white top faces. Then as you go deeper in the log the silver heartwood starts to show up.
NOTE: Unfortunately this set did twist a little, mainly on pieces 6 and 4. Piece 6 was laid on the floor and pictures were taken to show intensity of the twist. If thickness is needed to be preserved, this set may be more of a fit for smaller components for a project.
