Here's a hard to find 20' LONG walnut slabs!
The log was cut at it's full length of 23', unfortunately we had to cut it back to 20' to get rid of an obscene amount of metal in the butt end of the log. We had made it thru two full length slabs (#6 and #7) before hitting the bulk of the iron hidden in the log that stopped our saw in its tracks.
There is some pretty major character in this log in the form of some large knots (mostly solid), a large void where the tree grew over a scar, and some end splits.
Great opportunity to do a long length project.
