Walnut Flitches
SPECIES
A decently long and wide set of walnut that has varying degrees of character. First half of the log is actuall pretty clear with a knot on either end and crotch grain that creeps into the log the deeper you get into it. There are some splits in the set that run mostly in or around the crotch grain. Crotch grain in the center pieces was painted over with our wax sealer before drying to try and prevent it from cracking during drying. It should come off with a little sanding.
