White Oak Flitches
SPECIES
A nice wide set of White oak right here. Its a little bit of a mixed bag as far as quality goes. Top and bottom sections of the log are mostly clear and nice and wide. As you creep into the middle pith in the middle begins to open up and split with knots littered in the center. Still clearer wood on either side but would be better suited to be ripped and get some nicer, wide straight grain pieces. there are also some spots in the sapwood that seemed to have gotten a little punky. Widths were reduced on some pieces to exclude splits and other defects from tally.
